Source Bakery Crowdfunding 2023

Producer: Caleb Gowett

——

At the end of January of this year, Source Bakery opened our first brick & mortar space at 3 Duncan St. in Gloucester. Source Bakery is a small, women-owned business that had been working out of a shared kitchen space since 2019. During those years, we attended hundreds of farmers' markets, pop ups and pop up events all over the North Shore until we felt ready to take the leap into opening a storefront of our own. At Source, we focus on using locally grown produce in all that we do. We make hand made, from scratch pastries & desserts using locally grown fruits, vegetables, flours & dairy products to make treats that are not only undeniably delicious, but they also help support an entire community of small businesses.

We have received such a warm welcome from everyone in the Cape Ann community since our grand opening and we want to be able to offer you more. We've met so many new faces and gotten to know many of you over the last few months, and we've taken your feedback & requests into consideration and with your support we will be able offer you espresso drinks of all kinds and many more food options!

The Specifics...

We want to be able to grow our drink & food menu offerings for you! We would love to serve you quality cappuccinos, lattes, mochas, hot chocolates and more. Our years long partnership with Little Wolf Coffee Roasters, based out of Ipswich, MA has been hugely successful so far and we feel confident you'll love our new drink menu.

We have also heard many customers remark that you are looking for more of a breakfast & lunch selection in the downtown Gloucester area and we want to be able to fulfill that need! In order to do that, we will need some equipment upgrades in the kitchen! Specifically, funding from this campaign will help with the purchase of the following items....

La Marzocco Linea Espresso Machine

Blodgett Zephaire-200 Double Deck Oven

Somerset Dough Sheeter

Vulcan Gas Griddle

With this equipment, we will be able to provide the community with delicious espresso drinks and quality meals using locally sourced ingredients. We plan to add croissants to the pastry menu using the dough sheeter and the double oven will allow us to keep up with demand. This equipment will also facilitate the launch of more breakfast menu items as well as sandwiches, soups, salads & prepared foods down the line.

How You Can Help

The most direct way to support our cause is by donating to this campaign, if you are able. All donations will go directly to the purchase of this equipment and be matched 2:1 by the Massachusetts Growth Capital Corporation. That's right, MGCC will DOUBLE your donation during this unique & exciting opportunity.

We want to make donating easy & accessible for everyone & for every budget, so the tiers for donations start at $10 and really, every bit helps! And if you're not able to donate at this time, we understand & want you to know that you can still support our campaign. Show us love by sharing our project on social media using the share buttons below, or just spread the word by chatting about Source with your friends, family, coworkers or even strangers on the street if you're feeling bold!!

Thank you so much for taking time to hear about our expansion plans and for considering donating. We appreciate you & your support more than you could know! <3
